Ginger Kale Smoothie

Ginger is my new favorite ingredient to add to smoothies! You should check out all the health benefits, it will amaze you! Adding it to a smoothie is simple, you simply cut off a tiny piece ( a little goes a long way) and drop it in. Ginger gives a smoothie a little zing without an over powering flavor.

Here is one of my favorites:

Ginger Kale Smoothie

Put the following ingredients into your blender ( I use a Vitamix) in the order listed below:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 orange (peel leaving the pulp)
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup milk (rice, almond, cow)
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 sliver of ginger (about ½ inch thick)

Blend on high for 30 sec or until smooth.
